is a theatre company dedicated to the communal creation of new work and the re-imagining of neglected classics. Artists from the visual, musical, and performance fields join together to invent theatrical experiences that push the boundaries and reshape the walls of traditional theater. The company aims to generate theatre that examines the complex issues of our culture, often through an historical lens, in the hopes of discovering themes and experiences that lie unseen or unheard.

erra irma's process is intensely collaborative: all elements of the
production are created, built, and designed through extensive periods of
shared exploration. These intensive rehearsal periods happen outside the
boundaries of the city, often in the majestic Catskill Mountains, where
our artists can be free to organically follow the rhythms of creation.
The work built during these intensives is then shared with the wider
community of New York City and abroad.
